A several Day cruise to the Alexander Archipelago. We stopped at Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Seward, and Anchorage.
A 70+ mile river float down the Escalante River that took us 6 days to complete. We started at a parking lot near Calf Creek Falls and ended at Crack in the Rock. We did our best to catch the river at peak flow, however we my Dad and I had schedule conflicts and our time was getting limited. We decided to risk it and make our attempt down the river. The first day we nearly turned back because we had only gone 2.5 miles in 5-6 hours since the water was so low. Half the day was spent dragging our rafts. Luckily we met some people on the river that told us it gets better after the first 9 miles. It did. We had a great time rafting for the next 5 days. We saw some intense terrain. The river passed by gargantuan red rock cliffs, strange rock formations, and breath-taking arches. Getting out through the Crack in the wall was treacherous. We had to lift all of our gear up a cliff with ropes. We made it out safe and were ready to get back home to the comfort of modern living.
